On the 26th of April 26 miles were due to be completed by all the London Marathon runners. There will be a lot of disappointed runners but the people who really suffer from all of this are the charities who rely so much on the money raised by the marathon.
As a PE department we’ve decided to help one of these charities who will suffer, Action for Children. It’s a charity that’s linked to our school community and close to many of our hearts I’m sure.
We would love it if many of you could join us with the 2.6 challenge tomorrow. Its all explained in the video link below. It’s basically doing a different exercise on the hour, every hour from 8am until 8pm. Each exercise will need to be completed 26 times. Many of us are also running 2.6 miles in the morning as part of the challenge.
If you do complete any of the challenges set by the department please send me a video or picture of you completing any part of it.
We are sharing the video below with our student via our social media pages etc so we’re hoping to get many involved and donating too.
Let’s all get involved and donate to this remarkable charity.

Thank you all so much for your hard work, support and donations during our 12 hour challenge . We have so far raised £1061 for Action for Children which is just outstanding. We really didn’t expect to raise anything close to that.
The Media officer for Action for Children has been in touch with me today as they found out about our Challenge and are so grateful for all the hard work and money raised. They want to post about our day and celebrate our achievement which is fantastic .
Please see below a short video made to display all the hard work from yesterday.
Thanks for all your support, the PE Department
